His Names Given,
And Prophesied

"And I praise and glorify the first sea which hath branched from the ocean of the Divine Essence, and the first sun which hath risen in the Heaven of Eternity, and the first fire which was lit from the lamp of Pre-Existence in the lantern of singleness:  He who was Ahmad in the kingdom of the exalted ones, and Muhammad amongst the concourse of the near ones, and Mahmud in the realm of the sincere ones . . ." (Writings of Baha’u’llah, p. 3).

The first sea, the first sun, the first fire, all means the First Begotten Son of God.  So this Baha’i prophecy is about the next return of the First Begotten Son of God, and the prophecy reveals His birth name – Muhammad.  Maitreya’s birth name was Muhammad Hussein.

"Such in particular is the case with the divine reality of the Most Great Name, the Abha Beauty. When He standeth revealed unto the assembled peoples of the world and appeareth with such enchantments - alluring as a Joseph in the Egypt of the Spirit . . ." (Writings of Abdul-Baha, p. 65).

In this prophecy Abdul-Baha compares the next Prophet of God (Most Great Name) to Joseph.  Maitreya was given the name Joseph, and He is the fulfiller of this prophecy.

"Moreover, thou son of man, take thee one stick, and write upon it, For Judah, and for the children of Israel his companions:  then take another stick, and write upon it, For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim, and for all the house of Israel his companions:… 'Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them: and I will place them, and multiply them, and will set my sanctuary in the midst of them forevermore." (Ezekiel 37:16, 26)

This is a two-fold prophecy: The first part is about the coming of the Christ to the children of Israel (first stick), which was previously fulfilled.  The second concerns Joseph, coming to the people of Ephraim and establishing the Kingdom of Heaven on Earth.  This latter prophecy is fulfilled by Maitreya, whose name is Joseph, and who has come to the peoples of Ephraim (United States, see Children of Abram (Abraham), All Prophecies Are Fulfilled) and who through THOTH, has brought the means by which God’s Kingdom can be established.

"Emmanuel was indeed the herald of the second Coming of Christ, and a summoner to the pathway of the Kingdom.  It is evident that the letter is a member of the Word . . . that is, it deriveth its Grace from the Word." (Writings of Abdul-Baha, p. 64)

In this prophecy we see Abdul-Baha explain that one of the names of the Second Coming of Christ would be known as Emmanuel.  Maitreya fulfills this prophecy as He was given the name Joseph Emmanuel.  Also, we know that this prophecy refers to Maitreya, because it mentions the Word that Maitreya has brought to humanity in our teachings.

He also has received the Sacred Name of the Son ().  This Name that merges with the Name of God (), is known as the Holy Name (Word).  It is this Holy Name that Maitreya Initiates His Disciples (The Chosen) with.  This fulfils the Prophecy that: He will come in the Name of the Father and the Son, also My Name is in Him!

Hindus are waiting for Kalki Avatar to come with the name Kumar (Prince).  Maitreya also received the name Vigi Kumar while He was in Ananda Marga.
