The Otomi Prophecy
The Prophecy of the Eight Thousand Sacred Drums

By Andrew Dwight Harris

(Maitreya's comments in red)

According to a Prophecy Revealed at the Otomí Ceremonial Center by the Otomí Elder Sages to the Indigenous Peoples and all Humankind and a Vision of our Venerable Ancestors, the day when the Sounds of Eight Thousand Sacred Drums join together will be the beginning of a true Healing of Mother Earth, of All the Species and of the Human Family – which is now in total dis-equilibrium – in order to be able to live together on the road to Sacred Peace, in harmonious union with the Universe, Mother Nature, the Community, the Family and our own Hearts.  It is time to re-unify ourselves and rediscover for ourselves all the Seeds of the Four Directions in order to reactivate cosmic energy, heal historical wounds and heal our Mother Earth by respecting life and the liberty and dignity of our Peoples.  (www.manataka.org/page277.html)

It is time to unify ourselves and rediscover all the seeds of the Four Directions in order to reactivate cosmic energy, heal historical wounds and heal Mother Earth by respecting life, liberty and the dignity of our Peoples.  The first great ceremony was held March 21, 2004 in Temoaya, Mexico and there will be drum circles joined around the world on the Spring Equinox continuing every year until 2012. I wasn't sure what the prophecy meant, but then found some things on the Mission website that might explain its meaning.  On the Prophecies page of the website I found this:

The second point found in Ezekiel 43, is that the glory of the Lord’s voice is:

“…like a noise of many waters.”

There is another person in the Bible who also has such a voice; it is the Lamb found in Revelation 14:2 whose voice was like “…the roar of rushing waters and like a loud peal of thunder.”  The Lamb in Revelation 14:2 is the same as the Glory of the Lord in Ezekiel 43, but the Lamb is also the same person as the Seventh Angel in Revelation 11:19.

The Bible shows us the connection between the Lamb and the Seventh Angel by this verse in Revelation 11:19: “flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder, an earthquake and a great hailstorm.”  Simply stated, the second clue that Ezekiel gives us about the Glory of the Lord who comes from the East is that He is also the Seventh Angel found in Revelation.

So it seems that the eight thousand drums is the symbolic voice of the Seventh Angel.

Also it shows in THOTH that it means a higher consciousness, because in THOTH (Revelation of The Revelation, Tablet 25, chapter 14) it says:

"And I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder: and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps:" (Rev. 14:2)

<3>Again the voice of many waters, as it was described, is the sound a person hears when he reaches very high consciousness.  It resembles the sound of "OM."  They will hear this sound, and it is the sound heard in the fifth chakra (overcoming the five elements).  <4>And there was singing and celebration for these people who had reached such a high consciousness.

I felt it was worth mentioning the cross-relationship between this prophecy and the Inca healing teachings.  The Q'ero (Inca healers) teachings on healing require the participant to reach the fifth level when the “mallkus” will emerge.  The fifth level is called the “pachacuti” ("Pacha" is similar to "Pancha" and "Panj", which mean five in Sanskrit and Persian respectively!).  The healing procedure is called the “mosoq karpay”.  The “pachacuti” also denotes a fifth age.  I used the website www.incaglossary.org/fg.html to look these terms up.  The glossary of Inca words says (the codes in green represent the sources of the website):

Fifth Level: (n) A level of consciousness characterized by the emergence of people of remarkable healing ability.  They must be able to heal every person of every problem or illness, with just one single touch.  And they must be able to do it every time.  The appearance of such healers will signal the beginning phase of the taripay pacha (Of course, the Mission teaches that people should learn to heal themselves)IEBJ

Pachacuti, Pachakuti: (n) (1) A period of upheaval and cosmic transformation, overturning of the space/time continuum that affects consciousness.  Reversal of the world.  KOAK ROR
A cataclysmic event separating eras in time.  The founding of the Inca Empire was seen as the beginning of a new era, and the Inca ruler responsible took Pachacuti as his name.  The Conquest was also seen as a pachacuti, in the sense of a great disaster.

Mosoq Karpay: (n) Literally, new initiation.  Rites of passage of the times to come which raise your consciousness to the fifth level.  According to the prophecies, at this time the Inca Mallkus will emerge.  KOAK

So if the prophecy of the Eight Thousand Sacred Drums, the Inca teachings, and the Seventh Angel are put together, we can see that the advent of the Seventh Angel is marked by the Eight Thousand Drums (e.g. peal of thunder), and is the voice of the Seventh Angel (THOTH).  It also symbolizes the fifth level of consciousness, and heralds a Golden Age, or fifth age (as explained by the Inca glossary) (North American Indians and Hindus also believe that the fifth age is coming).  The “mallkus” will also emerge at the fifth level.  The word “mallkus” reminds me of “Massau'u” from the Hopi terminology.  Of course this is only one comparison of many that could be made.

Sal-OM,
Andrew
