July/August 2012 Newsbrief → Announcements Feast Update The registration date to attend the Feast of Tabernacles in person at the Center (July 1st) has passed with no signups. Although you can technically still register up until two weeks before the Feast (for an additional 20% late fee), we are expecting it will be another quiet, mostly online Feast. That is FINE, and we hope everyone will join us online and keep it sacred in their own areas. That is how the Feast should eventually always be - each community celebrating it in their own areas, and each individual within themselves! However, since at this time we are celebrating it together online, one thing we would like to see for this year's Feast is more participation from Mission members. Otherwise it will end up again that only a few people will organize and run all the events, etc. We also are not expecting to be able to hold as many events from the Center this year due to circumstances of some of the workers here. Therefore, we are opening the floor for others to step in and suggest, plan, etc. some events for the Feast. As can be seen in last year's schedule, we usually hold two events each day, each about 90 minutes long (besides some exceptions such as the community service and the Vision Quest day). If anyone has an idea for one (or a part) of these slots, please let us know! If it is a good idea, we are willing to work with you to make it happen, and hopefully others will join in and become involved as well. If we recieve no ideas and offers to plan events,
probably we will make the Feast even simpler and have a few
events be automated or very simple such as Kirtan, rosary
recital, etc. This is also FINE, and will still be
beautiful and purify the Spirit. However, if you want
this year's Feast to be more active than that, then it is up
to you! |
