Prophecies in Revelation Coming True?

By Noor

Consider the following verses from the book The Revelation in the Bible:

The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up.

And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood;

And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed.

(Revelation 8:7-9)

The deeper symbolic meaning of these verses has been explained by Maitreya in THOTH (Revelation of the Revelation, Tablet 18).  However, Maitreya has always said that every word of God has more than seven meanings, and with the recent disasters that have plagued humanity, another possible meaning for these verses seems to be emerging.

The first verse could possibly relate to the volcano that erupted in Iceland and spread ash ('hail and fire') across a large part of the earth.  Although it did not burn up trees and grass (if that part of the verse is taken literally), it did halt transportation all across Europe and elsewhere for a long period of time, and had a noticeable effect on the world.

Another possibility is that this first verse relates to other recent volcanic events as well, for example the 1980 eruption of Mount St. Helens, which did burn up significant amounts of trees and grass.

An even closer correlation seems to exist between the second and third verses and the recent oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.  The spill was the result of an explosion ('burning with fire') on a drilling station on top of a pipeline almost a mile deep ('a great mountain') in the ocean ('cast into the sea').

Even now, with no end in sight, the spill is listed on Wikipedia as the third-largest spill in history, and could easily become the largest by the time it is contained.  Also, scientists are worried that the oil could flow into ocean currents and spread across the Atlantic, or that storms, hurricanes, etc. could lift up the oil and deposit it elsewhere ('the third part of the sea').  Furthermore, the dispersants that are being used to control the spill turn the oil a reddish color ('became blood').

Finally, the spill will certainly have a great impact on the marine environment ('creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died'), although the extent of the damage is not yet known.

We cannot say for sure that this interpretation is correct, but it certainly is compelling, and seems to make sense.  If it is true, then perhaps the next few verses in Revelation give us a warning of a disaster to come:

And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters;

And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.

(Revelation 8:10-11)

These verses could mean many things.  Only God knows the future, and what exactly the disasters of the future will be is not really important.  All that matters is the knowledge that there will be disasters and calamities if humanity does not return to God and follow His Will.  However, these verses, perhaps, give us a hint of what is to come.

Something to note is the similarity between these verses and the Native American prophecy that a part of the sun ('a great star') will pass close to and/or hit the earth and cause the deaths of many ('and many men died of the waters').  It also brings to mind the scientific theory of a meteor hitting the earth and wiping out the dinosaurs, or the new, but growing, theory that a meteor smashed into ice and glaciers around 12,000 years ago (possibly causing the Flood of Noah).  Again, only God knows, but the warning is ominous.  As the other predictions of God in these verses seem to have already come true, we can surely expect that this will as well.

All thanks to the Father for sending His Prophet to us to Reveal so many amazing truths.  We are truly Blessed beyond bounty in this dark time and age.
